Dr. Finn Gustafsson is the division vice president and chief medical officer of Abbott’s heart failure business. Dr. Gustafsson leads the heart failure medical affairs organization, which is involved in new product development, preclinical research, emerging technologies and clinical trial strategy. Dr. Gustafsson joined Abbott in 2025. Prior to joining Abbott, he served as medical director of the advanced heart failure, transplantation and mechanical circulatory support program at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark, and as a professor of cardiology at the University of Copenhagen. An internationally recognized expert in advanced heart failure, Dr. Gustafsson has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed articles.
